Good Morning Bestie
Hey Bestie,
It has been a wild past couple of days and there are so many things I want to share with you. Where do I even begin?! First, I had the opportunity to go to a podcast convention by myself and it was the best decision I made. Thank you to my bestie Koco for gifting me the ticket because it was not in the spending plan to go to an event. The convention was hosted here in Orlando and it was called PodFest Expo. The amount of trainings, activations, and networking opportunities was unreal. I thought I would be more nervous to go on my own but I could not get over the fact that I was ABLE to go. To be in a point in my career I have the control to decide and go to an even with my time made me think back to a time I always had to request time off or ask permission in advance to attend. There was no explanation needed, it was my choice to go. That is a feeling I will not take for granted and I know I am in a season of embracing this new norm.
If I could summarize what I learned at PodFest was:
- Success loves speed. Do not sit on an idea, take action and decide. Sometimes we get too focused on the detail we ignore the fact that we will have the opportunity to make it better.
- Give yourself mini digestible goals. Whether it is to talk to 3 new people or apply a new resource. Go into the event with a goal that will move the needly forward with your overall goals.
- Going to events alone is a VIBE. I had the opportunity to be on my schedule and limit any distractions around me. I stuck to my schedule and that felt so good to see myself step out of my comfort zone and not depend on others to lean on and make conversations.
I highly recommend you plan a solo event this year for yourself bestie. There is no amount of stress that I can put on with the importance of investing in you. Don't you know that you are the biggest prize, last time I checked you are living in YOUR world. The life you are living is the reality you are making for yourself. Why wouldn't you want to spend the energy in pouring back into you and it will look different for everyone. That is perfectly fine because you start to invest in your skills, career, relationship, finances, and the list can go on...you will start to see what is important.
It is kind like me crashing out over ULTA BEAUTY WORLD tickets. It is still a sore subject, you would think I am upset about not getting the $2K worth of products when in reality, that was a ROOM I wanted to be in. To invest in my connections. To have the audacity to be seen. I know everything is always happening for me not to me. Some way shape or form I will be in the right room because WHY not. Was there anyone else that is still recovering from the Ulta Beauty World shenanigans?
Anyways that is off topic, the moral of this newsletter is to invest in you and there are an endless amount of versions of what investing can look like bestie.

Sloan Echavarria: Chaos Coah | Public Speaker
Giving flowers to the besties who's embodying the work, whether they're building new routines, launching a passion project, or just showing up for themselves in a real way. This is where we celebrate progress and realignment.
Tell us who you are and what you do?
Sloan Echavarria, I'm known as Sloan The Beast, a Chaos Coach for women with demanding lifestyles. Through my yearly retreat, leadership program I help them hold the stillness and the storm without the self-sabotage.
What does your current routine look like (realistically)?
As chaotic as my life is, I've done a good job of making my routines romantic.
I run off a biology-founded rhythm where I wake up at 9:30/10am. I typically have slow mornings making a big breakfast for my kids, journaling and getting fully dressed (hair, makeup, Pinterest fits because you are the aesthetic!)
I enjoy a barista-grade cup of coffee while my kids and dogs are going feral in the background and I'm logging everyone (including myself) in for the day. Settling the kids in their homeschool corners, opening all the windows for natural endorphins to breathe new life into me. And we hit the ground running.
Pick three characteristics that you think are non-negotiable for growth. Go into details.
Faith. There is an inner knowing that is necessary for you to extract the very best of yourself. And to enter into the next highest level of your potential. You must have the faith that every resource, idea, person, strategy, every skill you need is already available to you beforehand. It's just in your hands to execute from that inner knowing. Faith will hold you when the world around you is crashing out.
Curiosity. We must become life-learners and that requires a child-like curiosity. To question why you make the decisions you do. To wonder what the probable outcome is if you focus on the best-case scenario... Curiosity has birthed the most ingenious leaders throughout history. I never pretend to know it all, I always question where I can explore deeper in my life and business.
Grit. This word at first glance sounds so aggressive. But I've learned that part of having grit in personal/professional growth is identifying when to be more gentle with yourself. To validate your own feelings and get back up to try again. This time with new data and information you can leverage to move through the lessons quicker.
What's one micro habit that's changed the way you show up for yourself? Why is it important?
Listening to my intuition. A lot of times it feels like I'm driving on the opposite side of the road. And in the long run I see why that decision was necessary.
Even right now, in what I allow to get my attention, the noise says "Be more active" or "Do more, now is the time" But my inner voice tells me to shift gears into what feels good, what's sustainable and honest.
This is important because I believe as leaders we are chosen to model our truths, not just regurgitate information. And if your intuition is telling you to do something, (or not do something) it's most likely because there is someone in your audience that is experiencing something similar. And your ability to live in that duality will open a flood of awareness and safety to connect with you on a deeper level as they explore the solution that makes the most sense for them.
